Heard Sri Satyendra Kumar Tiwari, learned counsel for petitioner as well as Sri Dev Rishi, learned counsel for respondents.

The petitioner being aggrieved by the order dated 18.12.2018 wherein his services were terminated on the ground of absence from duties had preferred an appeal before the respondent on 16.04.2024 which is pending consideration.

Learned counsel for petitioner confines his prayer to the suitable direction to the respondents to consider and decide his appeal in a time bound manner.

Sri Dev Rishi, learned counsel for respondents submits that the appeal itself was filed after a considerable length of time but fairly submits that even if the appeal has been filed after expiry of the statutory period and the orders have to be passed by the competent authority in this regard.

Accordingly, without entering into merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the appeal of the petitioner expeditiously, say, within a period of eight weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before him in accordance with law and communicate the decision to the petitioner.
