Anil Kumar Jain-Applicant has approached this Court through this application under Section 483 Code of Criminal Procedure for issuance of directions to the trial court to expedite the trial proceedings of Criminal Case No.10 of 2021 arising out of Case Crime No.476 of 2016 (State Vs. Vasu Jain & others), under sections 498-A, 323, 504, 506 I.P.C. r/w 3/4 Dowry Prohibition Act, District- Meerut, within stipulated period.
After framing of charges on 24.2.2023, one prosecution witness has been examined out of total nine witnesses. Since the trial has commenced a year back and prosecution is adducing its evidence, therefore, no ground is made out for issuing the directions for expeditious disposal of the trial, in view of the decision of Hon'ble Supreme Court in Shaikh Uzma Feroz Hussain Vs. The State of Maharashtra, MANU/ SCOR/ 145020/ 2023.
The application fails and is hereby dismissed.
