Heard Mr. R.N. Ojha, learned counsel for petitioner and learned Standing Counsel representing respondent nos.1 to 4.
The petitioner happens to be a Mali with the respondent no.3 and when he was not being paid the minimum wages as was to be payable to a Class-IV employee, he made certain representations. The last representation was made on 17.11.2021. Learned counsel for the petitioner has argued that in view of the law laid down by the Apex Court in the case of State of Punjab vs. Jagjeet Singh reported in 2017 (1) SCC 148 , the petitioner's wages should be revised.
Without going into the merits of the case, it is directed that the representation which the petitioner had filed be decided by the respondent no.3 on its own merits in view of the judgment of the Supreme Court reported in 2017 (1) SCC 148 , within a period of two months from the date of presentation of a certified copy of this order.
The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
