The present writ petition has been filed alleging that the petitioners, who are major, have married out of their own free will, however, their matrimonial relation has not receipt acceptance by the Respondent No. 4 and the other family members, as such, there is a threat to their life and liberty. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the Record.

Considering the fact that the petitioners are major and in terms of the mandate of Article 21 of the Constitution of India, the petitioners are entitled to their life and liberty and the State is bound to protect the same, as such, the present writ petition is disposed off with a direction that in the event, the petitioners face any threat to their life and liberty by their family members or any other person, they shall approach the Respondent No. 2 by means of an application for protecting their life and liberty as per the mandate cast upon the State by virtue of Article 21 of Constitution of India. Upon receipt of any such application, adequate steps shall be taken by the Respondent No. 2 to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioners is not affected in any manner.
