Heard Sri S.K. Yadav, learned counsel for the petitioner and Shri Nimai Dass, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the respondents.
The petitioner is ready and willing to deposit the amount of tax of Rs.18,275/-, which is sought to be recovered against him. We, therefore, allow 15 days' time from today to make the deposit.
Insofar as the penalty is concerned, it is open to him to file an appeal before the appropriate authority.
For a period of 15 days from today, no coercive measures shall be taken against the petitioner.
With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
