Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel.
This petition impugns the order dated 8 May 2016 pursuant to which an adverse entry has been recorded against the petitioners. This order has been affirmed by both the appellate as well as the revisional authority. The entry itself has come to be recorded in the backdrop of an incident which took place on 23 November 2015 when the petitioners were posted at Gaur Block to provide requisite security in the course of an election nomination process. The allegation is that they had donned a black band upon their uniform in order to register a protest against the quality of food which was being served and also sought to instigate other members of the police force posted there to join the protest.
Bearing in mind the fact that the petitioners are member of a disciplined force, the view taken by the respondents merits no interference. The submission of the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioner did not indulge in this activity had been found by both the appellate as well as the revisional authority to be devoid of substance since the entire incident came to be duly recorded and it was on the basis of the reports drawn with
respect to that incident that the Disciplinary Authority had proceeded to inflict the punishment in question.
The writ petition is dismissed.
