Section 5. Objects of the University

The objects of the University, among others shall be—

(1) imparting education in Agriculture and other allied branches of learning and scholarship ;

(2) furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of research in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and other allied branches with particular emphasis on temperature and cold desert Agriculture ;

(3) undertaking the extension education of such science for the benefit of the rural people of the 1[Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] ; and

(4) such other purposes as the University may from time to time determine.
