Section 24. Pro-Chancellor

(1) The Chief Minister of the 1[Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] by virtue of his office shall be the Pro-Chancellor of 2[both the Universities.]

(2) The Pro-Chancellor shall, when present, in the absence of the Chancellor, preside at the meetings of the University Council and at the convocations of 2[both the Universities.]

(3) The Pro-Chancellor shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as are conferred on him by this Act or the Statutes.
