COMMON ORDER:

These two Writ Petitions can be disposed of by this common order.

The challenge in these Writ Petition is to the order passed by the Superintending Engineer, Operation circle, second respondent herein, relating to the meter dispute.

A Special Tribunal/Special Court is constituted under the Indian Electricity (AP Amendment) Act, 2000 and the said Amendment came into force with effect from 31.07.2000. In view of

the same, the petitioners are at liberty to approach the special Court/Tribunal under Section 49-I of the Indian Electricity (AP Amendment) Act 2000 within a period of four weeks from today and on receipt of the representation from the petitioners, the Special Court constituted under the provisions of the amended Act shall decide the dispute relating to correctness or otherwise of the meters in question after affording an opportunity of hearing to both the parties. Till then the impugned orders demanding Rs.1,33,757/shall not be given effect to.

The Writ Petitions are accordingly disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions pending consideration if any in the Writ Petitions shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
