The petitioner asserts that his grandfather purchased an extent of Ac.2.80 cents of land in Sy.No.523/1 situated in Potharlanka village, Kollur Mandal, Guntur District in the year 1935 and after the demise of his grandfather, the petitioner’s father came to be in possession of the land and subsequently the petitioner has been in continuous possession and enjoyment of it by doing cultivation. The land in question forms part of an extent of Ac.270.00 cents of land which is popularly known as “RAVILANKA” in Sy.No.518 (old) and belongs to Raja of Challapalli of Devarakota Estate. While so, it is stated that after the Estates Abolition Act (Conversion into Ryotwar Patta) 1948, the Government acquired the entire area of Potharlanka village on 07.09.1949 and took over possession of the land in question with effect from 07.08.1972. It is stated that after the death of the petitioner’s father, the petitioner, based on his possession, made a representation requesting the 2nd respondent to grant patta in his favour. Now, the petitioner’s grievance is that the 2nd respondent has neither granted patta in his favour nor passed any orders on his representation. Hence, the present writ petition is filed seeking appropriate directions.
