This Writ Petition is filed for a mandamus to declare the inaction of respondent No.1 in processing applications of the petitioners for grant of Freedom Fighters’ Pension under the Swatantra Sainik Samman Scheme 1979, as illegal and arbitrary.

At the hearing, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Revenue (Telangana Area), on instructions, submitted that the applications of the petitioners have been processed upto the stage of the District Collector and the same have been forwarded to respondent No.1 for consideration and taking appropriate decision and that the same are pending with the said respondent. He further submitted that respondent No.1 will take a decision on the petitioners’ applications and the same will be informed to them shortly.

In view of the above submissions of the learned Assistant Government Pleader, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent No.1 to consider the petitioners’ applications, take a decision and communicate the same to the petitioners within a period of two months from the date of receipt of this order.

As a sequel to the disposal of the Writ Petition, WPMP No.31663/2013 filed for interim relief is disposed of as infructuous.
