This writ petition is filed seeking mandamus declaring the action of the respondents-Corporation in not interviewing the petitioner, on 19.01.2012, for selection as dealer for Company Owned Company Operated outlet at Khanapur village and Mandal, Adilabad District, as arbitrary and illegal.
It is not in dispute that the petitioner is aged 23 years.
As evident from the counter-affidavit filed by the
respondents-Corporation, a brochure is issued indicating the eligibility criteria, in which it is clearly stated that the age of the candidate must be between 30 and 65 years. It is to be noted that petitioner does not fit into the eligibility criteria notified for selection inasmuch as he is underage. Merely because his application was received, initially, that does not make the petitioner eligible for being considered as dealer.
As much as the petitioner is undisputedly aged less than 30 years, the action of the respondents-Corporation in not interviewing him for selection as dealer cannot be found fault with.
Writ petition is devoid of merits and is accordingly dismissed. No order as to costs.
