ORDER:

In this writ petition, the grievance of the petitioner is about the inaction on the part of respondents 1 and 2 in disposing of the appeals filed by him on 23.10.2008 and 18.06.2008 respectively.

The petitioner worked as a Revenue Cashier/Lower Division Clerk in the second respondent - Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited. As a measure of punishment in disciplinary proceedings, he was dismissed from service by the Chief General Manager, HRD, Tirupathi vide Memo bearing No.DS/AS III/P.O./DC/F.No.(iii) D.No.920/08, dated 29.05.2008. He stated that questioning the said memo, he filed an appeal before the second respondent on 18.06.2008 and thereafter, before the first respondent on 23.10.2008. His grievance is that though considerable time is lapsed, the second respondent is not considering the appeal preferred by him.

When the writ petition came up on 29.03.2010, it was adjourned to today enabling the learned Standing Counsel for the second respondent to get instructions in the matter. Today, on instructions, he stated that the appeal filed by the petitioner is under consideration by the second respondent and appropriate orders will be passed in a short time.

In view of the above said submission made by the learned Standing Counsel and as the appeal was filed by the petitioner as early as on 18.06.2008, I deem it appropriate to direct the second

respondent to dispose of the said appeal as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the copy of the order passed in the appeal, immediately to the petitioner.

Subject to the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
