2. Heard Sri K. Chidambaram, the learned counsel representing the writ petitioner and Mr.G. Elisha, the learned standing counsel representing the respondent.

The writ petition is filed praying for the relief of writ of Mandamus declaring the proceedings in Lr.No.69/GPS/2009 dated 26-11-2009 issued by the Secretary of the respondent Gram Panchayat as illegal, arbitrary, contrary to law and in violation of principles of natural justice and without power or jurisdiction, and consequently, to set aside the same and pass such other suitable

orders.

4. Several facts had been narrated in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition. It is stated that without affording any opportunity whatsoever, the order under challenge had been made.

In view of the facts and circumstances, this court is of the considered opinion that the writ petition be disposed of directing the respondent to treat the order dated 26-11-2009 as show cause notice and let the petitioner submit explanation within a period of two weeks from today and let the respondent after receiving such explanation, which can be submitted by the petitioner, give opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in this regard within a period of two weeks thereafter. Till then, status quo obtaining as on today to be maintained.

6. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No order as to costs.
