ORAL ORDER:
The petitioners, who were admitted in M.D. and M.S. courses, respectively, filed this writ petition seeking a declaration that the action of the respondents in conducting the Final Year P.G. Medical Examination on 23.11.2006 i.e. well before 4 months of the completion of the study period is illegal and improper.
On instructions, it is submitted by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents that some of the candidates will be completing the study period of three years by 31.3.2007 and only for those candidates the examination is conducted from 23.11.2006 onwards and so far as the petitioners are concerned, it is submitted that they are admitted in the month of April, 2004 and as they will not be completing their study period by 31.3.2007, they are not allowed to write the examinations. However, it is submitted that immediately after completion of the study period by the petitioners by the end of April, 2007, the respondents will conduct examinations for such candidates.
As much as the examinations which were conducted on 23.11.2006 were intended only for the candidates who will be completing their study period by 31.3.2007, and, even for the petitioners, the examinations will be conducted immediately after completion of their study period, there is no illegality committed by the respondents in conducting examinations from 23.11.2006 for those who will be completing the period of study by 31.3.2007.
I do not find any merit in the writ petition and the same is accordingly dismissed. No costs.
