Petition under Article 226 of the constitution of India praying that in the circumstances stated in the Affidavit filed herein the High Court will be pleased to to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondent in not considering the case of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate grounds is illegal, arbitrary and unconstitutional and consequently to direct the respondent to appoint the petitioner to any suitable post on compassionate grounds with all consequential benefits and pass such other order or orders.

The petitioner claims that he is the son of a deceased employee of respondent Bank. He contends that his father died on 14.06.1998 while in service. The petitioner represents that within a short time, after the death of his father, he made an application to the respondent for providing employment on compassionate grounds and subsequently he also made several representations to the respondent in this regard and the latest representation is being 31.05.2004.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the respondent is not passing any orders on his representations. Therefore, he approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondent to pass appropriate orders on his representations for compassionate appointment.

3. In the light of the circumstances, explained by the petitioner, the respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the representations of the petitioner for compassionate appointment according to the existing rules and instructions, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, and communicate the same to the petitioner.

4. This writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of. No order as to costs.
