The present writ petition has been filed against the order dated 30.09.2022, whereby the engagement of the petitioner was discontinued for the reason that the selected persons have joined their respective posts in the respondent-Department.
Learned counsel for the petitioner does not press the main relief, however, he submits that since the petitioner has worked in the respondent-Department on contractual basis for more than six years, therefore, in case the respondents desire the services of the persons like petitioner on contractual basis in future, their candidature may be considered by giving them some preference.
Learned Additional Advocate General submits that in the event of engagement of the persons on contractual basis by the State Government, the candidature of the petitioner will be considered by giving some preference/weightage, if the need so arises in the respondent-Department.
In view of the submission made by the counsel for the respondents, the writ petition is disposed of in terms that in case the respondent-Department requires any manpower on contractual basis, the candidature of the petitioner will be considered by giving some weightage/preference in comparison to the fresh candidate.
