Petitioner has raised this Public Interest Litigation under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking extension of parole and interim bail granted to the prisoners.
During the course of arguments, petitioner (appearing in person) has submitted that so far as the present petition is concerned, the same is pressed only with regard to extension of interim bail granted to the prisoners on medical grounds, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On a query put by this Court, petitioner has submitted that only six prisoners were granted interim bail on medical grounds.
After going through the facts and circumstances of the case, we are of the opinion that no ground for interference by this Court

while exercising jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is made out. Prisoners who have been granted interim bail on medical grounds can always approach the Court for extension of interim bail, if so required. However, no general direction in this petition can be passed for extension of interim bails granted to the prisoners on medical grounds.
Dismissed.
