The present petition is for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to extend the parole of the petitioner granted to him, vide order dated 23.08.2022 (P-1) on medical grounds.
On notice, a reply dated NIL has been filed by learned State counsel on behalf of respondent No. 3 stating therein that verification with regard to illness of the petitioner as per report dated 06.09.2022 (P-8) has been got made through S.H.O, P.S. Longowal, who further got the matter verified through A.S.I. Ram Singh, P.S. Longowal. A.S.I Ram Singh visited Jeewan Hospital, 4E, Tagore Nagar, Civil Lines, Ludhiana and obtained a written report from Dr. Pritpal Singh with regard to factum of illness of the petitioner. The above doctor has given a medical report dated 15.09.2022 (R-1) stating therein that the petitioner is suffering from deep vein

amputation of right leg, so, he is advised rest, medicine and tight stocking for 01 month and surgery after one month w.e.f 06.09.2022 onwards.
Learned State counsel on instructions submits that the petitioner is still on parole.
In view of the report dated 15.09.2022 (R-1), the present petition is allowed and accordingly, the parole of the petitioner is extended till 01.11.2022. The petitioner is directed to surrender before the concerned authorities on 02.11.2022 at 10 o'clock at the jail after the expiry of his parole period.
The petition is allowed in above terms.
