The case set up by the petitioner is that he had appeared in 10+2 examination in the year 2014 under the Punjab School Education Board, Mohali. He secured 17 marks in the paper of Political Science and the result was declared as “re-appear”. He obtained the answer sheet under the Right to Information Act, 2005 and has alleged that the answer sheet was not correctly marked, therefore, he made a representation to the Board for re-marking of the answer sheet as per Rules but his representation has been rejected vide letter dated 11.02.2015 by which the petitioner has been intimated that there is no provision in the Rules for re-marking. The petitioner has challenged the said letter in this writ petition on the ground that it is arbitrary and unreasonable.

After hearing learned counsel for the petitioner and examining the record, I am of the considered opinion that the prayer made by the petitioner itself was that his answer sheet of the paper of Political Science may be re-marked in accordance with the Rules and once there are no Rules of the Board providing for re-marking, no relief can be granted to the petitioner in this writ petition holding the action of the Board to be illegal and arbitrary.
Accordingly, the present revision petition is found to be without any merit and hence, the same is hereby dismissed.
