This petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent No. 4 to open the locks of the residential police quarters, which was sealed in pursuant to the orders dated 25.11.2010 passed by this Court.

In compliance of order dated 25.11.2010 passed by this Court,, Sub Divisional Engineer, Provincial Sub Division PWB (B&R) vacated the whole premises.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner was not allowed to removed his belongings which are still inside the house, which is arbitrary and illegal. The petitioner is living in the area for the last more than 50 years with gas connections, electricity connections in their names etc and no alternative sites has been allotted to him and others alleging that the petitioner is unauthorized occupant.

Commissioner, Patiala has informed the Court that the residential house of the petitioner was vacated by giving him due notice and opportunity of hearing. However, if belongings of the petitioner are still lying in the residential house, he shall appear before the SDM who shall facilitated him to remove the belonging from the residential house in question.

In view of the above instructions, this petition at this stage is being disposed of by giving a liberty to the petitioner to approach respondent No. 4, within 10 days from the receipt of certified copy of this order to enable him to clear his belongings from his residential house.
