The prayer in the present writ petition is for issuance of directions to the respondents that the petitioners be not replaced with other ad hoc employees.
In the written statement filed, it is submitted that the posts in question were to be filled up through the employment exchange and the petitioners worked only for 89 days and it had been rightly decided to fill up the post through the employment exchange till the regular selected candidates join. It was also averred that the petitioners had not passed the type writing test and they did not fulfill the conditions stipulated in the appointment letters and they had a right to apply to the Subordinate Services Selection Board on regular basis. The petitioners were not given extension as per the appointment letters after the expiry of their term (extended period).
No interim order was passed when the writ petition was admitted. None has put in appearance on behalf of the petitioners. A period of almost 2 decades has expired. It is apparent that the petitioners have lost interest in the present litigation.
Accordingly, the present writ petition is dismissed for want of prosecution.
