Status report has been filed, taken on record. After hearing the matter at length, it has been submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the SIT constituted in this case is being headed by the Officer of the Rank of DIG.
Learned counsel for the petitioner do not press the relief to refer the case to the CBI for investigation. He has limited his prayer for direction to the Investigating Team headed by Shri R.S. Ghumman, IPS to further investigate the case to take it to some logical conclusion.
Learned State counsel has submitted that the status reports have been submitted by the police and after making all out and earnest efforts, the son of the petitioner could not be traced. It has been submitted that the investigation will continue till the police reach some logical conclusion.
In view of the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner and learned State counsel, this petition is disposed of Satyawan with the direction that the Investigating Team headed by Shri R.S. 2014.02.17 09:38 "I attested to the accuracy and integrity of this document" High Court Chandigarh

Ghumman, IPS will continue the investigation of the case and submit quarterly report to the Inspector General of Police, U.T., Chandigarh and take necessary directions. In the event of non-availability Shri R.S. Ghumman, IPS, Inspector General of Police, U.T., Chandigarh will depute some senior IPS officer to supervise the investigation of this case. The petitioner shall also be associated in the matter and apprised of the progress made in the investigation.
The disposal of this petition will not forfeit the right of the petitioner to approach this Court, if he feels that the police is not going in the right direction while investigating the case.
