sanction from the Government for getting the scheme dropped for the land which was sought to be acquired by it. The aforesaid resolution was sent to the Director, Local Government Department, Punjab, Chandigarh vide memo dated 12.2.1998 (Annexure R-2/2). It has also been stated that the Improvement Trust Scheme already stands abandoned and has lapsed on 9.5.1998 and, therefore, the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous.
