This writ petition has been filed with a prayer to restrain respondent No.4-Gram Panchayat from auctioning the land in dispute and from dispossessing the petitioner during the pendency of an application, filed before the Collector, under Section 7 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 (in short 'the Act').

It is apprehension of the petitioner that the Gram Panchayat is going to put on auction the land in his possession and in the process he will be dispossessed from that land. It is stated that proceedings for his ejectment from the land in dispute are pending before the competent authority.

filed this writ petition. Vide order dated 7.6.2013, notice of motion was issued and status quo was ordered to be maintained in this writ petition.

Counsel for the Gram Panchayat states that the Gram Panchayat is in possession of the land in dispute.

Be that as it may, proceedings are pending before the Collector-respondent No.3 at Palwal, for ejectment of the petitioner from the land in question,under Section 7 of the Act.

Taking note of the same, we dispose of this writ petition by giving liberty to the petitioner to move an appropriate application for grant of interim injunction before the above said officer.

If the petitioner file's such an application, the above said officer may dispose of the same expeditiously.

For a period of three weeks, let the parties maintain status
