The petitioner who is working as an Executive Engineer was subjected to disciplinary action and a recovery order dated 19.02.2001 was passed against him by way of punishment. The petitioner is said to have submitted an appeal-cum-representation against the afore-stated order, upon which comments etc. were sought. No decision appears to have been taken so far, though the petitioner has submitted subsequent representations dated 27.02.2005 and 10.08.2009 [Annexures P-3 and P-4].
Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and considering the nature of relief sought but without expressing any views on the merits of the case, I deem it appropriate to dispose of this writ petition with a direction to respondent No. 1 to dispose of the afore-stated appeal-cum-representation filed by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible and preferably within six months from the date a certified copy of this order is received.
