These suo moto proceedings were registered on a note prepared by Mahesh Grover, J., the then Administrative Judge of Sonepat Sessions Division taking note of escape by eight prisoners from District Sonepat, regarding use of e-surveillance, laser locking and other such futuristic concepts of ensuring security in jail.
Pursuant to the order passed by this Court on 30.7.2012, affidavit of Rakesh Malik, Director General of Prisons, Haryana, has been placed on record, wherein it is stated that one more escaped prisoner Atender alias Channu has since been arrested on 6.9.2012 and every endeavour is being made to arrest Pardeep alias Bholu and Surender alias Sonu. Regarding installation of jammers in the prisons in the State of Haryana, it is stated that necessary proposal was sent to the Government of India for grant of consent on 16.8.2012. jammers will be installed in all the prisons in the State of Haryana.
In view of the above affidavit, this writ petition has become infructuous and the same is disposed of as such. The special teams so constituted shall continue to make endeavours to arrest the remaining two escaped prisoners. The jammers be installed after getting consent from the Government of India and report will be placed on record of this case.
