Bimal Kaur & Anr. Vs State of Haryana & Anr.

This is a petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for quashing FIR No.103 dated 30.10.2007 under Sections 406/498-A of the Indian Penal Code registered at Police Station Naggal, District Ambala (Annexure P-1), on the basis of compromise (Annexure P-4), along with all subsequent proceedings arising from that FIR.

Complainant-respondent No.2 Ranjit Kaur is present in person in Court. She has filed affidavit in which it is mentioned that she has arrived at a compromise.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has offered an amount of ` One lac in cash to the complainant/respondent No.2, in terms of compromise and the same has been accepted by her in Court.

This is a matrimonial dispute which has been amicably settled between the parties.

So, in view of the above circumstances and in view of authority reported as, “ Kulwinder Singh and others vs. State of Punjab and others” 2007 (3) RCR (Criminal) 1052, the above said FIR stands quashed. Further proceedings in pursuant to that FIR, including the proceedings declaring the petitioner as proclaimed offender, also stands quashed.
