The petitioners have approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents for regularization of their services as they are working on daily wages as Class-IV employees in the police department for the last more than 10 years. It is their case that the

police department is regularizing services of the similarly placed daily wagers on pick and choose basis by ignoring and over looking the claim of senior persons like the petitioners.

The assertion of the petitioners has been controverted by the learned State Counsel who submits that the daily wagers have been regularized strictly in accordance with their seniority in respective cadres and availability of regular sanctioned posts.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents that in case the vacancies are available, the claim of the daily wagers like the petitioners for regularization of their services be considered against such vacancies strictly as per the seniority as early as possible but not later than four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
