Rajinder Kumar Kalia Vs State of Punjab and Ors.

Petitioner is working as a Senior Planning Draftsman in the Town and Country Planning Department, Punjab and is aggrieved by his transfer from SAS Nagar, Mohali to Hoshiarpur.

Learned State Counsel points out that the petitioner has served for 14 years at Mohali and therefore, he has been transferred in public interest.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties, I deem it appropriate to dispose of this writ petition observing that in case there are any mitigating circumstances which might require consideration of the petitioner's request for his stay at SAS Nagar, Mohali or at any other nearby place, he may represent to the competent authority who shall consider his request sympathetically and pass an appropriate order within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
