The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus, for release of the detenues, 14 in number, as mentioned in para No.3 thereof, from the unlawful custody of respondents No.4 to 6.
On the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, vide order dated 1.12.2011, District Magistrate, Hoshiarpur, respondent No.2, was directed to hold an inquiry while exercising powers under the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976 and submit a report to this Court.
