Prayer in the present petition is for grant of bail pending trial. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that co-accused, namely, Ishar Singh and Rohit Sharma, who were similarly situated, have already been granted bail by this court vide order dated 30.9.2011, passed in Criminal Misc.-M No. 19849 of 2011—Ishar Singh v. State of Punjab and Criminal Misc.-M No. 20110 of 2011 -Rohit Sharma v. State of Punjab.
The aforesaid fact is not disputed by learned counsel for the State. He submitted that there is another FIR bearing No. 75 dated 15.5.2011, registered against the petitioner under the Arms Act, where on account of his disclosure statement, a country made pistol was recovered from him.
After hearing learned counsel for the parties and on the ground of parity considering that similarly situated co-accused have been granted bail by this court, the petitioner is directed to be released on furnishing of bail bonds to the satisfaction of Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate, Ropar.
The petition stands disposed of.
