Gurjeet Singh and Parveen Kaur, petitioners No.2 and 3 are present in the Court. Petitioner No.3-Parveen Kaur has been identified by her counsel. She has stated that she has passed matriculation examination. She has further stated that she was born on 5.2.1990. It is further stated by the petitioners that they have solemnized marriage according to their own volition against the wishes of their parents. The petitioners seek protection to their life and pray that they may not be harmed by those who have not accepted their marriage.

Mr. Harsh Garg, Advocate, has caused appearance for respondents No.4 to 6 and has submitted that they have no objection to the marriage and this Court may provide necessary protection to the

newly wedded couple.

Respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Karnal, is directed to assess threat perception to the petitioners and if required, ensure necessary vigil that no harm is caused to the life of the petitioners.

With the observations made above, the present petition is disposed of. However, it is specifically observed that this Court has not determined the validity of marriage.

A copy of this order, duly attested by the Special Secretary of this Court, be furnished to Mr. Sandeep S. Mann, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Haryana, for onward transmission and compliance.
