Present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. with a prayer that the respondents be directed to register an FIR against the accused persons namely Raj Kaur wife of Jasvir Singh and Nishan Singh son of Swaran Singh for abduction of Charanjit Kaur minor daughter of the petitioner.
Counsel for the State has filed reply on behalf of the respondents, wherein it is stated that Charanjit Kaur was born on 5th April, 1993 and she has performed marriage with Nishan Singh on 12th May, 2011. It is stated that daughter of the petitioner, being major was competent to perform marriage and no offence has been committed by the above said persons, and thus, the FIR as prayed for cannot be registered.
Counsel for the petitioner, at this stage, has submitted that in view of the reply filed by counsel for the State, he may be permitted to

withdraw the present petition with a liberty to take recourse to the alternative remedy available to him in accordance with the provisions of law.
