This is a petition for quashing of FIR No. 6 dated 6.1.2011 u/s 498-A IPC registered at P.S. Beas, District Amritsar on the ground that the allegations levelled in the FIR do not constitute any offence against the petitioners.
Learned State counsel, on the instructions of ASI Savinder Singh, informs that the petitioners have not been challaned as accused and their names have been mentioned in column No.2 of report u/s 173(2) Cr.P.C., The petition has thus become infructuous and is disposed of as such without prejudice to the rights of the petitioners to approach this court again in case any step is taken to add them as additional accused during the period of trial.
