Vide Notification under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for short,'the Act'), issued on 13.12.1978, followed by Notification under Section 6 of the Act dated 14.12.1982, land measuring 7.59 acres situated at Khanpura Bangar, was acquired for the purpose of construction of Satluj-Yamuna Link-Canal.
The Land Acquisition Collector,Punjab, compensated the land owners by awarding Rs.35,200/- per acre. Dissatisfied with the award, objections under Section 18 of the Act, were filed, which were disposed of by the Learned District Judge, Patiala, vide his award dated 15.1.1987, assessing the market value @ Rs. 62,000/- per acre.
Still dissatisfied, the land owners preferred RFA No. 1829 of 1987 (Sarwan Singh deceased through his LRs and another v. State of Punjab and another, which has been allowed by Hon'ble Mr. Justice

S.K.Mittal, on 8.10.2003 and compensation was enhanced to Rs. One Lac per acre. The RFAs filed by the State of Punjab were dismissed while that of the claimants/land owners were allowed.
Since the present controversy is squarely covered by the decision rendered in the aforesaid RFA Nos. 1829 of 1987 decided on 08.10.2003,therefore, the same is also hereby disposed of in the same terms.
