Notification under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for short,'the Act'), was issued on 24.6.1981, vide which land in village Shamsher Nagar for construction of Southern Bye Pass G.T.Road Shamsher Nagar adjoining Sirhind Chuni Road, was acquired.
The land owners were compensated by the Collector vide his award dated 24.4.1985, assessing the compensation @ Rs.25,000/- per acre. Unsatisfied with the award, objections under Section 18 of the Act, were filed by the landowners to the Collector, which were referred to the District Judge, Patiala, who vide his award dated 28.4.1988 reassessed the compensation for the entire land @ Rs. 50,000/- per acre.
The State of Punjab, had filed RFA No.1606 of 1988 (State of Punjab and another v. Piara Singh) which was decided on 29.10.2003 by

Hon'ble Mr.Justice V.K.Bali. The present controversy is covered by the decision rendered in the above referred RFA No.1606 of 1988.
The present appeal is,therefore, disposed of in the same terms
as in RFA No.1606 of 1988 decided on 29.10.2003.
