The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 324, 341, 342, 337, 338, 307,353, 379, 188, 427, 504 of the Indian Penal Code, 27 of the Arms Act and 1(i) of The Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. It is alleged that the informant being the police officer was on patrolling duty found that one Bibha Kumari, a defeated candidate of the Zila Parishad, was leading a mob and raising slogans against the government when mob started pelting stones causing injury to the police personnels when the police resorted to firing also.
