This writ petition has been filed with the following prayer:

“In view of the facts stated above, it is prayed that the Hon’ble Court be graciously pleased to admit the writ application and after hearing the parties, the Opp. Party No.5, Government of India, Labour Department may kindly be directed to take immediate steps for abolition of the contract labour system in the Opp. Party/Corporation Indian LPG Bottling Plant, Chhanapur, Balasore in the Department of filing and bottling of LPG Gas;

And may kindly direct to the other Opp. Parties not to terminate or dispense with the services of the employees/petitioners and workers whose list has been indicated in the Annexure-3 by changing their service condition and appointing new contractor as per notification vide Annexure-5 issued by the said Opp. Party/Corporation on 25.11.2002 and the said notification/tender notice may kindly be quashed:

And may kindly protect the interest of the petitioners and the concerned workers indicated in the writ petition so far as service conditions are concerned;
