During course of hearing, Mr. Tarai, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that t
he father of the petitioner Balmiki Sahu died in harness on 8.12.2015 in a road accident and b
efore the terminal benefits could be released in favour of his mother, she expired on 30.1.201
7. In such background, he approached opposite party no.1 for release of terminal benefits. The
opposite party no.1 scrutinized the matter and vide letter dated 3.6.2017 under Annexure-5 fo
rwarded the pension papers and other related documents for authorization of Family Pension in
favour of his mother late Smt.Sushama Sahu and authorization of DCRG and other terminal benefi
ts in favour of the petitioner. The grievance of the petitioner is that though the recommendat
ion has been sent to the Manager (Finance), Pension, Southco Utility on 3.6.2017, however, the
Manager (Finance), Pension, Southco Utility is sitting silent over the matter. In such backgr
ound, he prays that a direction be issued to the Manager (Finance), Pension, Southco Utility,
Corporate Office, Berhampur to take a decision on the recommendation made by opposite party no
.1 under Annexure-5 within a specific time period.
