This matter is taken up in the National Lok Adalat today in presence of learned counse
l for both the sides.
As agreed between the parties, the awarded compensation amount of Rs.7,68,500/- is mod
ified and reduced to Rs.6,00,000/-, which shall only be payable to the claimants along with in
terest @ 6% per annum with effect from the date of filing of the claim application, i.e., 2.1.
2014. The said modified/settled compensation amount shall be deposited before the Tribunal wit
hin two months hence, which shall be disbursed to the claimants proportionately, as per the di
rection of the learned Tribunal given in the impugned award. As the matter is settled in Lok A
dalat, no court fee shall be payable.
The statutory amount deposited in the Registry of this Court along with the accrued in
terest thereon shall be refunded to the applicant-Insurance Company, on filing of receipt show
ing deposit of the modified/settled compensation amount and interest before the learned Tribun
al.
The MACA is accordingly disposed of.
