22.06.2016 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.
The petitioner is an accused in Special N.D.P.S Case No.72 of 2015 on the file
of learned Judge, Special Court, Angul registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of N.D.P.S. Act.
It is alleged that on information the excise officials raided the house of the petitio
ner and he tried to flee away from the spot and on apprehension 2 Kgs. of contraband Ganja was
recovered from his possession.
It is submitted that the charge-sheet has already been submitted in the case. The peti
tioner is in custody since 31st August, 2015.
Considering the submissions and the circumstances, it is directed that the pet
itioner be released on bail on executing bond of Rs.20,000/- ( rupees twenty thousand) with t
wo sureties for the like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Judge, Special Court, Angul
with the conditions that he shall not involve himself in any act of the alleged type and sha
ll not default in personal attendance in court during trial on each date.
The BLAPL is accordingly disposed of.
