I would like to respectfully inform you that there is a green area of approximately seven bighas on the service road of NH-19 at Subhash Tiraha in Shikohabad tehsil of Firozabad district, Agra division, Uttar Pradesh. This area is covered with flowering, fruit-bearing, and shady trees and was being used by the local residents and children of Shikohabad for recreation and leisure. Ashok Kumar Jain, a resident of Shikohabad, has entered into an agreement with Harendra Baghel Urf Bobby Baghel, & Anil Baghel resident of Shivganga Market, Katra Bazaar, Shikohabad, for the construction of a shopping complex for personal gain. This is being done without informing the FirozabadShikohabad Development Authority and without obtaining the necessary approvals for the building plan. The proposed plan is attached. In this area, in collusion with local administrative officials, trees are being thinned out daily under the pretext of pruning, and the remaining green trees are being cut down after dark. The wood is then removed from the area, and the remaining roots and stumps are dug up and the holes filled. Due to the destruction of this park, local elderly people, women, and children have no other suitable place left for walking and playing. For some time, a large statue of Mahavir Swami was also installed in this park, which has now been removed. This is causing considerable inconvenience to the people, especially the Jain community, for their worship and prayers! Unfortunately, for the past few days, large-scale tree felling has been taking place in this garden without any prior notice, permission, or legal process. According to local residents, this is being done to facilitate a private construction project or for commercial purposes. This felling is not only a violation of the Environment Protection Act, 1986 and the Tree Preservation Rules, but also goes 'against the guidelines issued from time to time by the Hon'ble National Green Tribunal (NGT).
