Heard Mr. Ajoy Pebam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. Shyam Sharma, learned G.A. appearing for respondent Nos. 1 & 3 and Mr. Debdutta, learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 2.
As directed earlier by this Curt, it has been submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the parties that they have got instructions from the authorities and as per the instructions received by them, the name of the petitioner is at serial No. 7 of the seniority list of the applicants for appointment under the die-in-harness scheme in the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur. It has further been submitted by the learned counsel for the respondents that as and when the turn of the petitioner comes and vacancies are available, the petitioner will be appointed against the suitable post under the die-inharness scheme.
In view of the submission made above, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the present writ petition may be closed.
After taking into consideration the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties and perusal on record, this Court is of the considered view that the present writ petition can be
disposed of by directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner against a suitable post under the die-in-harness scheme as and when his turn comes.
With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition is disposed of.
