Mr. I. Lalitkumar, learned senior counsel, appearing for the
petitioners, states that the issue has been addressed during the pendency of
this case and that adjudication on merits is no longer required in this writ petition filed in public interest.
PIL No. 48 of 2021 is accordingly dismissed as infructuous.
In consequence, MC(PIL) No. 21 of 2021 filed by the State,
raising the issue of maintainability of the case, is also dismissed.
No order as to costs.
