This Writ Petition is filed for Writ of Certiorarifed Mandamus, calling for

the records of the first respondent pertaining to impugned Letter No.4122/K2/2025-1 dated 11.06.2025 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents grant extension of time for a period of One Year to change the name boards of the shops to display the name board in Tamil as per the Rules and Regulations of Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Rules 1948.

The grievance of the petitioner is in respect of the impugned order

dated 11.06.2025, directing change of name boards through out the State of Tamil Nadu as specified by the Department of Labour. The requirement is that, every retail outlet / establishment, the name board shall be in Tamil language

including other languages.

The impugned order is dated 11.06.2025 of the Department of Labour,

signed by Secretary to the Government on 12.06.2025.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that they would comply and follow the orders passed, however, seeks three months time from today.

Since one year has already lapsed, the petitioners are directed to complete changing the name boards on or before 1^st November 2026, as a last chance. Failure to comply, action can be taken by the concerned.
