This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the

respondents to remove the entries such as “Anadheenam land”, “Kanniyammal”

and “K. Uma” in Survey Nos. 350/2, 350/3, 350/7, 350/15 and 351/1A and include the petitioner’s name in the Settlement Land Register and “A” Register based on the petitioner’s representation dated 10.05.2025.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the

petitioner is the owner of the aforesaid properties and she has been in possession and enjoyment of the same, the Settlement Land Register and “A” Register do not reflect her name as their owner and instead, they reflect the aforesaid lands as Anaadheenam lands and as lands belonging to Kanniyammal and K. Uma earlier; hence, seeking to remove such entries and to include her name in the Settlement Land Register and “A” Register, the petitioner addressed a representation dated 10.05.2025 to the respondents; since no action has been taken by the authorities pursuant to the same, this writ petition has been filed seeking the aforesaid relief.

Mr. C. Prabakaran, learned Government Counsel, who accepts

notice on behalf of the respondents, submitted that the petitioner’s representation dated 10.05.2025 will be considered by the second respondent within a period of eight weeks.

Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the limited prayer sought in the writ petition, this

Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner’s representation dated 10.05.2025, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing by issuing

due notice to the petitioner and other aggrieved persons, if any, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No

costs.
