PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to relocate the Tirunelveli Hospital Postmortem Room, situated at Tirunelveli Law College Road, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 28.05.2024.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for the respondents.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the postmortem room in Tirunelveli Government Medical College and Hospital has to be relocated. The petitioner's specific contention is that since Tirunelveli is witnessing communal murders, considerable hardship is caused to the members of the general public on account of agitation and picketing done on such occasions.

3. The grievance of the petitioner may be justified. On that score
alone, the Writ Court cannot direct the authorities to relocate the postmortem room. These are matters, which will have to be necessarily decided only by the jurisdictional Executive. We, of course, can provide relief to the petitioner by calling upon the second respondent to ensure that general traffic is not affected on such occasions.
