The petitioners herein filed plaints against the respondents herein before the Principal District Judge, Chengalpattu, for damages for illegal detention. The above plaints have not been numbered as the learned Judge had raised the question of maintainability of the plaints. The grievance of the petitioners is that though the counsel appearing for the petitioners had argued the question of maintainability on several times, the learned Principal District Judge simply adjourning the matters without deciding the question of maintainability of the plaints.
