This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India by way of public interest litigation for removal of a TASMAC shop, which

according to the petitioner is situate within prohibited distance from a State Highway. The petitioner wants a direction on the respondents authority to dispose of his representation dated 27.11.2017.

After hearing the respective parties, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 27.11.2017 for removal of the TASMAC shop in accordance with Tamil Nadu Liquor Retail Vending (In Shops and Bars) Rules, 2003 read with the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in State of Tamil Nadu v. V.K.Balu [2017 (1) KHC 26 (SC)] and subsequent judgments. No costs.
